Sant Elia lies between the Conero and Verdicchio wine growing areas in central Le Marche. In 2006 the family, with the help of an experienced agronomist, planted a new vineyard, with vines of Montepulciano and Verdicchio grapes. According to the agronomist, Sant Elia was one of the best sites he had ever planted!!
The first wine from the new vineyard was produced in 2009, and with much trepidation family and friends had the tasting the following summer. All agreed that the wine surpassed expectations. The vintage is just getting better every year.
The next step is an investment in larger scale wine making equipment with the further intent of marketing the wine to a wider audience.
